Abstract
The objectives of this academic article are a) To make known the plot of the novel “El Túnel”, by the renowned Argentine writer Ernesto Sábato. b) Reflect critically on the vices of obsession, harassment and violence to the detriment of people.
The hypothesis that is proposed is the following: “Cases of obsession and violence, especially to the detriment of women, must be prevented and treated with moral, family and psychological guidance from childhood, training in respect for the dignity of people; compliance with fundamental rights and duties; and teaching the seriousness of the crimes severely punished by law, which can be related to those cases.
The article proposes a reflection, with descriptive and theoretical methodology, of obsession and harassment disorder; observation of reality, criticism of the lack of moral and legal guidance, to generate some alternative solutions to the problem.
The article is a brief essay, which uses the novel, to try to understand the problem and provide a simple answer for a solution on a moral and legal level.
