The good administration in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and in the Ibero-American Charter of the Rights and Duties of Citizens in Relation to Public Administration: towards a better understanding of its meaning

Abstract: The right to good administration is a right of enormous importance in the relationship between citizens and public institutions and administrations in Europe and Latin America. However, this right is still lacking greater prominence, possibly due to its abstract and diffuse nature. Comparing the content of good administration in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the Ibero-American Charter of Rights and Duties of Citizens in Relation to Public Administration can help foster a better understanding of this right. The objective of this paper is to contribute to a broader dissemination of the right to good administration by better understanding its meaning and how it is being addressed in Europe and Latin America.
