Employees’ representatives in the companies are different in each country, but two systems can be observed: work councils and trade union representatives. The Labour Law in each country rules their number and collective bargaining usually allows increase, not only their number but also their functions. In order to achieve these roles, they are allowed to take some paid time off for these activities, different depending on the number of the employees in the company. This time off can be given to one representative of the workers, called “liberados sindicales” in Spain, whose estimate amount is going to be calculated.
